The Division of the Humanities

The leader for cultural life in the University, the Division of the Humanities serves as a catalyst to all areas and departments within the School of Arts and Sciences. The Division of Communication Arts

The Division of Communication Arts enables students to examine the mass media's impact on the social, economic, political, and cultural aspects of society. The Division uses CAU's state-of-the-art facilities to provide hands-on training to all its majors. Facilities includes WCLK-FM radio station, a television production studio and CAU-TV, a cable television channel serving the metropolitan Atlanta area. Careers pursued by Communication Arts majors include broadcast journalists, actors and actresses, film directors, film critics, TV anchors, casting directors, copyeditors and copywriters, public relations directors, special events coordinators, playwrights, and media analysts.

The Division of Natural and Mathematical Sciences is designed to develop students' capacity for scientific and analytical work. Because Clark Atlanta University houses some of the most advanced research facilities in the Southeast, natural science and mathematics majors have the extraordinary opportunity to gain key research experience while at CAU. THE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Established in 1931, the School of Business Administration has always sought to provide quality business education by integrating scholarship and business experience in innovative educational programs. Committed to the development of world citizens who search for solutions to the problems of racism, sexism, age discrimination and economic deprivation, the School hopes to instill in its students compassion for these issues in their business decisions. In order to provide practical work experience in conjunction with their academic studies, the School links students with local and national business. These internships provide financial support and often the opportunity for employment after graduation. Careers pursued by graduates from the School of Business Administration include CPAs, claims adjusters, tax lawyers, loan officers, appraisers, financial analysts, international buyers, account executives, human resources managers, sales managers, and personnel recruiters.

THE SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK

Established in 1920 and incorporated under the laws of Georgia in 1925, The School of Social Work is the first accredited School of Social Work in Georgia and the oldest Historically Black School of Social Work in the world. Committed to the development of citizens who search for solutions to the problems of racism, sexism, age discrimination and economic deprivation, the School hopes to instill in its students compassion for these issues in their daily practice of social work. Careers pursued by graduates from the School of Social Work include international social workers, gerontology specialists, clinical social workers, substance abuse counselors, case workers, developmental disabilities specialists, community organization directors, policy analysts, research analysts, juvenile corrections officers, child protective services personnel, and criminal justice/corrections specialists.
